Protestant Christians have held the book of Romans in high esteem since Martin Luther made it a hallmark of his claims for reform. Today, this writing has undergone intense scrutiny, and continues to puzzle the church. This course examines the book of Romans historically, exegetically, theologically, and practically.

May be taken as BIB 300 for 2 elective credits in YTI’s Master of Arts in Theological Studies and Diploma of Christian Theology programs, or audited for personal enrichment.
This course may also be taken as a 1-week intensive from April 1–5, 2019.
Dr. Jay Smith (Ph.D., Trinity College, University of Bristol) is president and Bridger professor of theology and ethics. He has taught at Howard Payne University, Baylor University, and the United States Naval Academy. A published author, he and Stanley Grenz co-created The Pocket Dictionary of Ethics (IVP, 2003) and Created for Community Revised Edition (Baker Academic, 2015). A conversation with Jay reveals his passions for literature and adventure. He loves to hike, compose music, and write about Jesus. Jay roots for the Baylor Bears and Howard Payne Yellowjackets.
