Exploring Faith and Ministry with Theological Courses in Northwest Washington
Bellingham, Washington is home to the western satellite campus of Yellowstone Theological Institute. Students can explore their faith and prepare for ministry in this unique setting, where the mountains meet the ocean, and glaciers and rainforests can be explored in a single day.
This city of 80,000 sits nestled below the dramatically glaciated silhouette of Mt. Baker, between North Cascades National Park and the San Juan Islands. Bellingham is a place of natural beauty with endless recreational opportunities.
The Bellingham campus is in one of the least religious states in the country. According to a 2015 Gallup poll, only 24 percent of Washington residents attend weekly religious services, with 58 percent attending “rarely or never.” We believe that the YTI student experience of education, ministering, and mentorship in unchurched communities serves as critical preparation for post-graduate work, whether in a secular or religious setting.
The entire Diploma of Christian Theology program can be completed at YTI’s Bellingham Center. Weeklong intensive classes are held several times each year. YTI does not have a dedicated, private campus in Bellingham; classes and other events are hosted by local churches in the area.
