The degrees and courses in theological studies at Yellowstone Theological Institute are intended to serve and inspire students from all backgrounds. Whether you seek preparation for vocational ministry, hope to become better equipped for volunteer service, or are exploring the meaning of faith in today’s dynamic world, YTI meets you where you are. All courses may be taken for academic credit or audited for personal enrichment.
Master of Arts in Theological Studies
The Master of Arts in Theological Studies degree prepares students through dedicated study, intelligent dialogue, spiritual guidance, and self-reflection. The MATS model allows students to attend courses in theological studies as a nonresident, with week-long intensive evening classes being held in Bozeman every academic term. Each course also includes reading prior to the week of class and several weeks of follow-up assignments, projects, and interaction with the instructor.
Master of Divinity
This innovative three-year residential program provides MDiv students with an intensive pastoral theology education, bringing to fruition the calling to go forth in the world and share God’s love.
The Master of Divinity program embraces a contemporary learning environment with dedicated mentorship, diverse dialogue, comprehensive academic curriculum, and practical ministry. YTI’s unique approach supports students as they deepen their experience and understanding in preparation for Christian ministry of all kinds.
Diploma of Christian Theology
The Diploma of Christian Theology program at YTI is a foundational preparation for ministry. Diploma students can begin with any level or focus of educational background, and learn the essentials of theological study and ministry work. Program graduates are equipped to bring the light of God’s love to individuals and communities in businesses, nonprofits, congregations, and anywhere else they feel drawn to serve.
