This course studies preaching from sermon construction to the delivery of the message, with special attention given to preaching context, verbal delivery, and the variety of preaching styles.

May be taken as COM 531 for 3 credits in YTI’s Master of Arts in Theological Studies and Diploma of Christian Theology programs, or audited for personal enrichment.

Dr. Scott HamiltonDr. E. Scott Hamilton (Ph.D., Walden University) is Lecturer in Pastoral Care & Counseling and Academic Administrator, and a clinically trained pastoral counselor. His research interests come to fruition at the intersection of spirituality, psychology, and existential theology. Having pastored in Texas and Maryland, he runs and bikes extensively and enjoys hiking, throwing clay, and woodworking. Dr. Hamilton, his father, and two daughters are all graduates of Howard Payne University.
