Ice Climbing & Winter Camping
March 11–13, 2026
This Adventure Practicum, to be led by YTI’s Vern Streeter March 11–13, 2026, will be an ice climbing and winter camping excursion! Join us as we hike/snowshoe up Hyalite Canyon south of Bozeman, Montana, find a sufficient place to camp for two nights, and hike to a couple ice climbs where we will “top rope” and cheer one another on! Participants should plan on challenging conditions—snow, cold, heavy load, and unpredictability. This excursion may be completed for academic credit at YTI by degree-seeking students*—but all are welcome! Further details available upon registration!
The adventure will begin with a team meeting at YTI in Bozeman on March 10 at 5:30pm.
DEADLINE TO SIGN UP: February 20
COST: $150
Cost covers snow shoes, ice-climbing boots, and fuel.
*Practicum may be taken for academic credit at standard tuition rates.
