The Local Community Learning Initiative (LCLI) has been a part of YTI’s community engagement program from its very beginning in 2012. Originally it was the Local “Church” Learning Initiative, but we realized fairly quickly that there was a broader group of “learners” in our Gallatin County community!
Therefore, to meet the information needs of our rapidly growing community, we decided to bring the LCLI back once per quarter. Each presentation involves a current, in-the-news and on-our-minds topic upon which we would like more information and the opportunity to inquire.
In 2024-2025 we will have presentations on politics (November), environmental responsibility (February), inspiration and the arts (May). Since the Yellowstone Theological Institute is a place where God is a topic of conversation, the speakers will draw from theology, religions, and biblical studies, as well as psychology, sociology, philosophy, and other areas of study.
Every presentation will be live-streamed and available on our YouTube channel. Our speakers are experts in their fields of study, as well as people of deep faith. More importantly, is the opportunity to discuss and engage with the speaker and your fellow audience members. Not to “argue” with other people, but rather to wrestle with the topic and hopefully, find common ground. Learning never stops for us.
