As we near the end of 2025, the darkness in our world is all too evident. Armed conflicts continue around the globe, while many are oppressed and killed just because of who they are and what they believe—including of our own Christian brothers and sisters. Mass shootings continue to make the headlines, depression rates are climbing in our nation, and the numbers of Americans facing daily loneliness are edging toward levels not seen since the pandemic.
The annual season of darkness that surrounds the winter solstice is, indeed, a reflection of the state of our world. Yet, like the Christmas lights that bring pin pricks of illumination on these long December nights, there is Light shining in the world’s darkness. The faculty articles in this issue of Inscribed remind us of the hope we have in Christ, the Light of the World, while reminding us of the privilege—and responsibility—we have as Jesus’ people to reflect His light to those around us.
This is at the heart of why we do what we do at YTI. We help our students grow in knowledge of and relationship with the God who is the Light of the World and equip them to share that light.
We are grateful for all of you and your roles in this ministry—as alumni, students, donors, and friends. From all of us at Yellowstone Theological Institute, Merry Christmas!
