ART 533: 10 Weeks, Mondays - Christian Art History I
3 credits
ART 533 explores Christian art history from its beginnings in the New Testament era through the high Medieval period in the late 15th century. The course covers the contexts and artistic substance of the fine and architectural arts from the Roman catacombs to the great cathedrals of Europe, and from rudimentary drawings to the great stained glass windows. Students will broaden their understanding of the meaning of the arts for the church.
