THEO 530 Historical Theology I is a basic historical survey of the development of theology from the first century through the medieval Renaissance. It takes care to investigate the first creeds, the canonization of Scripture, catholic orthodoxy and heresy, the medieval papacy, and the formation of the schools at Paris and Oxford. The course gives the student a contextual background for Christian theological claims. *Meets November 7, 9, 11, 14, 16
